On 21st February 2021, the International Language Day, a day and night football match was organized in the memory of late Shri Sushil Kumar Saha and Ronny Roy at Ramkrishnapur Barnali Sangha in Barasat. The awards for the best players in the tournament have been dedicated to the late Ronnie Roy, an internationally acclaimed photojournalist.
The respected individuals started the program by keeping silence in the name of the demised along with lighting of the lamps. The special attraction of this event was the women's football friendly match. The main competition started with a total of 16 teams.
The 16 teams who participated were namely - Kachari Math Morning, Rajarhat Newtown, Lakshmi Builders, DS Enterprise, Sameer Enterprise, Football Fan Club, Blue Tiger, Nabarun Sangha, Dragon FC, Urban Enterprise, All Friends, Naboday Sangha, New Khelaghor Super Six, Ma Tara Enterprise, DRSC and Kalikapur Ultra Marinersha.
Indian football legend Hussain Mustafi took the opportunity to come up and share his views, thoughts and encouraging words for the players as well as others present.
The event came witnessed the presence of Mr. Ronnie Roy's brother Mrityunjay Roy, Indian football legend Hussain Mustafi, renowned producer and vice chairman of Kalakar Awards Hemant Marda, Bollywood producer and senior journalist Ayonjit Sen, renowned musician and director Abhishek Basu along with the presence renowned actress Shiuli Ramani Gomes, Anjan Chowdhury, Zonal Head of Tiaju Pharmaceuticals, Subodh Mallick, longtime friend of late Roni Roy and journalist, journalist Satyajit Chakraborty, journalist Abhijit Bhattacharya and photo journalist Swapan Mahato.
After a battle of scores, Kalikapur Ultra Mariners Club won the best team award and Pritam Biswas of Kalikapur Ultra Mariners won the best player award while All Friends Club won the runners up award.
