With the help of unbroken 79-run partnership between captain Lokesh Rahul (60*) and Chris Gayle (43*) for the second wicket, the Punjab Kings defeated the five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians by nine wickets on Friday. Even with captain Rohit Sharma’s 63-run innings, MI scored just 131 runs for six wickets while batting first. Punjab achieved the target of 132 runs at the loss of one wicket within 17.4 overs. ‘Man of the Match’ KL Rahul hit three sixes and three fours in a brilliant 52-ball innings. For PBKS, Mohammed Shami and Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets each while Deepak Hooda and Arshdeep Singh took one wicket each.
