27/04/2021: Jaya Nag, the daughter of Purulia, has been singing since childhood. And the song of the earth is in her blood. Mrittika, a female-led in folk music band whose lyricist, composer and founder is Jaya herself, is coming. Although the soil plan has been in place since 2018, Mrittika or Jaya has to face various repercussions. Finally, after many battles, Mrittika is about to launch with an OTT platform called Ullas, recently launching its own OTT platform Ullas on April 14 at TopCat CCU in Kolkata and the app is available on Google Play Store. Musician Jayati Chakraborty, film director Gautam Ghosh, actress Jaya Sheel Ghosh, Saheb Bhattacharya and Kalyan Sen Barat were present on the occasion. And the soil was revealed on the same day. Mrittika is coming with their first dedication identity song. In addition to Jaya, the band has three other musicians - Swasti Chatterjee, Shilpi Bhattacharya and Anushree Ghosh and the entire music arrangement was done by the famous music director Shri Tunai Debashis Ganguly.
Jaya also said that their music video was shot in Ayodhya hills (Purulia) and it will be released on April 30 on the screen of ullash. The main idea of Mrittika is to work with different regional tunes of Bengal.
